The Emily Wyatt Memorial Scholarship was formed in memory of Ms. Emily Wyatt, whose life was tragically cut short in an automobile accident. Emily had performed with Capitol City Opera in the production of The Saint of Bleecker Street as a beneficiary of the opera company’s teen mentoring program. At the time of her passing, she had just begun her freshman year in the Arts Magnet Program of North Springs High School.
The scholarship is available to aspiring young performers who wish to make a career in the performing arts. Awarded funds can be applied towards college expenses or supplemental training programs. The award is presented at opening night of our Spring performance each year, and is awarded to a young person who is serious about pursuing music as their chosen field of endeavor.
Past Recipients: 2007—Katie Owens 2008—Elizabeth Barsalou
